They were pretty nice especially the 18. Generally speaking most floor tom frequencies live around the 50 70hz range and the bass guitar s fundamental frequency range is said to be from about 60 hz up to about 1 khz. I always had square floor toms 14 s and 16 s. Not for everybody but i don t have anything else that sounds remotely close to this kit. Drum comes with original dw heads with floor tom legs and memory locks. I prefer under square floors most of the time but i have some square sized floors that are really good.

I too have a 14x12 floor tom to go with it but a 14x14 16x14 should be fine and your floors would probably sound great. I can only compare two sizes 15x16 which is the size for my 97 premier apk floor tom and a 16x16. The action just seems a little better with the shorter depth and it punches really nice.
